WEnt this weekend and for the 4th time in as many trips Alantis was not running (from about noon to 2pm). The parking sign did not identify the ride as closed, but it closes all the time for 'maintenance'.
My suggestion for those of you with small kids that may want to spend a lot of time at the ride: get there when you can. If you see the ride is running, go for it. Don't save it until later in the day as it may not be functioning then.
There is a new ride on the way, however. Manta is currently under construction, scheduled to open Summer 2012. There is little info availalbe on the website, but here are a few pics from what I presume is a 'future state' presentation: http://seaworldparks.com/en/seaworld-sandiego/Attractions/Rides/Manta.
The challenge here is that the construction on Manta cuts off quite a few routes through the northwest side of the park. It will be great to get another ride at the park that should draw long lines and shorten the ones at the exhibits.

Welcome! Getting Started
Our family has been visiting Sea World in San Diego every chance we get, for about the last 15 years. The past few years, however there have been some changes to the park, and we always seem to be arriving at the wrong time or just missing a few of the attractions. While we sat in the parking lot, thinking that we wished we would have know (for instance) that the Atlantis ride doesn't open until noon, I wished there was a site that would give me the 'little guy's' perspective on the park.
Well here it is!
Please share your feedback and tips for others that will make their way to San Diego in the future.
